Our society and culture is currently undergoing a radical shift in its understanding of reality, authorship and truth. With the development of accessible AI imaging, immersive tech, and individual broadcasting, our political and cultural landscape is reshaping contemporary notions of the power of imagery’s relationship to truth. The Rolodex Propaganda project looks in particular at how networks/the internet play an integral role in this shift.
This one-day symposium reflects on the online/offline nature of the Rolodex Propaganda project at The Wrong Biennale/KARST by bringing together artists, curators and thinkers on the emergent forms of virtuality and new materialities. The symposium will delve into histories of NetArt and online cultures, networked imagery, the entanglement of materiality and digitally. With keynote speakers, artist talks from Rolodex Propaganda participating artists, and research students from Arts University Plymouth’s Postgraduate community.
Presentations from : Annet Dekker, Max Colson, Helene Kazan, & Tom Milnes.
